Notting Hill Genesis is one of the largest housing associations in London and the South East with more than 66,000 homes. They employ around 2,000 staff.

Retinue provides a comprehensive contingent and permanent workforce solution to Notting Hill Genesis. This includes the management and recruitment of approximately 300 temporary workers and 400 permanent hires per year. This is through a dedicated account management team, proprietary and integrated technology, powerful business intelligence, and a strong agency management team..

Requirement 

The client needed to improve its talent pipeline for permanent roles and the recruitment experience for internal and external candidates. Notting Hill Genesis needed a partner who could improve efficiencies within the recruitment process, including time to hire. And they needed to improve quality and the number of posts filled the first-time round. Retinue had to support  Genesis in decreasing spend on temporary and permanent recruitment as well as enhance reporting capability and better support managers. 

Solution 

Retinue partnered with Genesis to deliver an integrated temporary and permanent recruitment solution. The technology was critical to Genesis, who required a modern, single online recruitment system to create a more streamlined service. Between March and October 2011, Retinue was awarded an exclusive and innovative permanent volume campaign to support the transformation of Genesis. Retinue managed the roles from advert through to offer stage, replacing the internal permanent recruitment team. Retinue took time to understand Genesis’ HR processes and procedures and, as a result, recruited all roles by October. 

Results 

Overall, there was a reduction in time to hire and cost per hire. In addition: 

• Candidate satisfaction increased by 15% and internal customer satisfaction increased by 10%. 
• A first-time fill rate of 98% 
• Temporary spend reduced by half (50%) and permanent spend by 30%.
