Jane highlights the massive disparity in the levels of funding for health and social care respectively. There are two imperatives for the Government. The first is to immediate funding to stabilise the sector and rebalance the last decade of chronic underfunding. Further continued investment which aids the preventive role that Homecare has vis-a-vis the NHS; Homecare workers are uniquely placed to help ensure service users (particular the elderly) have their basic health needs met; this can reduce the cost and resource pressures on NHS usage.
