Using MSP and self-managed vms solutions to harmonise the supply chain
Mitie has provided facilities management services since 1987. Today, they are the UK’s leading facilities management and professional services company. Across the UK, their 70,000+ people look after a diverse, blue-chip customer base, from banks and retailers, to hospitals, schools and critical government strategic assets. They have contracts with the likes of Lloyds, Primark, Bayer, and Amazon.
Requirement
The client needed to regain control. They had no control over contract and temporary recruitment. They had over 200 staff suppliers who were charging a markup of between 12 and 22%. There was a lack of consistency across the recruitment processes and there was no ability to review temporary worker data.
Retinue needed to gain visibility of all current costs associated with temporary recruitment as well as improve the quality of temporary candidates.
Solution
As part of the managed service approach, Retinue was committed to working in partnership with Mitie to overcome their challenges. Retinue recognised that one model did not fit this client and offered a two process-solution.
Solution one: a self-manage option supported by Retinue's proprietary technology platform. This enabled hiring managers to have the autonomy to choose a contracted supplier. They could engage directly, maintaining a relationship with their chosen agency whilst logging all bookings onto a single online portal.
Solution two: MSP. This option suited parts of the business which were looking to receive an end-to-end booking solution managed by Retinue, utilising the nGAGE group of companies to drive down recruitment costs for Mitie.
In relation to staff shortages, Retinue worked with Mitie to build regional hubs of local suppliers linked to the identified hot spot locations. To reduce off-contract spend, Retinue looked to harmonise all terms and conditions within their supply chain.
